Leon’s Site

Leon Brown heads up the Show & Shine, Crusin’ Good Time Classic Car Show and Parade which highlights the Myrtle Point Harvest Festival each year in late September.

More than 150 car owners participated in the 2007 Car Show and Shine with a Cruisin’ Good Time.

The event lives on under the enthusiastic leadership of Leon Brown whose community support ranges from Treasurer of the Myrtle Point High School Boosters Club to his position on the Board of the Myrtle Point Chamber of Commerce.

The Harvest Festival includes two Fun Runs, the shorter mile long event introduces the very young to the Oregon tradition of cross country running.  The gnarly Skatepark hosts competitions.  There is a lively street fair, a farmers’ market, the Steak Feed to benefit the fire department, open houses at the Logging Museum and Masonic Lodge, and entertainments by locals on the street and in the old theater, now the Foursquare Church.
